(1) When giving away a daughter's daughter in marriage, the bride's party should not take any cash for herself.
(2) The bridegroom should not be taxed to give so much jewels, clothes, cash-things or whatever for the daughter-in-law to be married.
(3) Violators of sub-section (1) shall be punished with confiscation of property and a fine ranging from twelve thousand to twenty five thousand rupees or imprisonment for a term of up to one year or both. The giver will be punished up to half of it.
(4) Whoever violates sub-section (2) shall be fined up to ten thousand rupees or imprisoned for up to fifteen days.
